One intriguing rumor bouncing around has new owners acquiring the (Cosmos) team. They would then have the club stay out of competitive soccer for a year and then purchase the Red Bulls to perform in MLS in 2018.
Like I said, an intriguing rumor.

Sports Illustrated's Brian Straus mentioning he's hearing from multiple sources that the NY Cosmos will be competing in the NASL 2017 fall season. Sale of club and stadium are the reason for the fall start with MCU's baseball venue being available after the minor league baseball season ends in June.

Brooklyn's baseball season starts in the June and ends around around around week of September. Still, good news. It'll be be little disheartening if you cosmos play only the fall and win a title again.
