Short version: decision is delayed until January. Seems like nobody knows what is going on, or what's going to happen then. They can only kick this can so much farther down the road with the teams waiting for a schedule. Nobody seems to know for sure what's going on with Edmonton.

The schedule was always released in January but it would have been nice to know what is going on this year so we can plan for next season!

Sorry, my phone hates links. Interesting tidbit is one nameless source saying the ussf will decide on everything tomorrow (jan 3).

And as far as the USSF is concerned, the NASL is in business! On several conditions....FCE may have a league to play in after all.

Last years schedule was released January 14th, but the previous 2 seasons were mid-December.
What are the odds of a balanced 14 game spring schedule?

Two items of interest.

1) Bill Peterson gets the heave-ho, or excuse me, the "amicably parted ways" heave-ho, which means either everyone concerned realized he didn't need to be there anymore, or they all hate each other to the point where they know they can't work together anymore. Once the commish of a professional anything has lost his franchise owners, he's toast.

2) The league is at 8 clubs for this season:
-FC Edmonton
-Indy Eleven
-Jacksonville Armada
-Miami FC
-New York Cosmos
-North Carolina FC
-Puerto Rico FC
-San Francisco Deltas

So there you have it, official confirmation that Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Rayo OKC are toast. In the end, the league drops 5 teams and picks up 1, at least until the NASL special of teams joining in the fall and playing the back two thirds of the year.

Reading their release the NASL says "which enters the 2017 season with eight clubs" so still a window to have clubs enter for 2017 fall.

Ft Lauderdale Strikers sale is in process and remains a possiblity for a fall 2017 entrance while Rayo OKC is sitting out 2017.

Two interested parties at the moment with a sale possibly imminent so NASL's caretaker role may be for only part of the season.

Was mentioned on last week's podcast (LCRV Ep 89), but we've heard that the schedule will be out within the next 10 days or so.
